Sun’s Parting Gift

100_6185

When the sun,

preparing to call it a day,

makes for the western horizon,

it leaves behind a parting gift for us.

A beautiful, mesmerizing landscape,

painting tall, post autumn,

sparsely leafed trees

in dark shade

against a sky in the contrasting, fading light,

each minute detail of the object,

standing out

in a mesmerizing manner —

bare branches, and some with

nascent leaves, emerging shyly

under the divine shade.

Awesome indeed…

thank you so much, o Sun God!

We’d eagerly wait for

your rise tomorrow,

carrying your golden rays

and a new dawn!
